Halloween Fun at AMS

Halloween - AMS Fulfillment

Halloween - AMS FulfillmentAs our readers likely know, AMS is a company with a culture, and within our culture we do like to ‘party’ at Halloween. Costumes and Halloween décor have become a tradition at AMS, with everyone getting enjoyment from the creativity of the management, staff and associates – it’s a creative holiday!

Costume Contest!

Thursday, the 30th, is the big day!! On this day AMS is having a costume contest. There will be voting, and winners in three categories… the best individual costume, the best duo, and the best department. Winners get to visit the prize room, and the prize room does have some nice prizes!! Organizers suggest contacting the Activities Committee representative for details on the parade schedule.

Mummify Your Boss!

Another really fun contest that we enjoy is the employee challenge to “mummify” their supervisor, manager, or director by wrapping them in warehouse materials. Last year brought about some very inventive mummy costumes. Employees are asked to submit their photos to the Activities Committee by Thursday, the 30th. Winners of the challenge will get ‘bragging rights’.

Decoration Contest

Our third contest challenges employees to decorate their workspaces. The workspaces open for decoration are the breakrooms, the lobbies, and the offices or departments. Each facility will have one winner, and that winner will get ‘bragging rights’ as well. Employees are asked to prioritize safety and make sure the decorations are secure and that walkways are clear. Once again, employees are asked to submit their photos to the Activities Committee by Thursday, the 30th.

When Did It Begin?

Halloween is celebrated by our AMS family as an opportunity for some fun creativity. Just out of curiosity we asked Google how the holiday originated, and our query brought up the following information:

“Halloween originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which celebrated the end of harvest and the beginning of winter and the Celtic belief that the veil between the living and dead was thin on October 31st. To ward off evil spirits, people wore costumes and lit bonfires, with traditions that evolved and blended with Christian holidays, especially All Saints’ Day, before becoming the modern holiday we know today.”

We won’t be warding off evil spirits at AMS but we will be creating some joyful ones. Our Activities Committee has a representative at every AMS facility, so for more information regarding any of the activities we mention, please feel free to contact: [email protected].

We’re Gearing Up!

Logistics does not have to be scary with proper planning and execution. AMS is gearing up in our costumes to lift our spirits for the upcoming seasonal event… “Black Friday”. Our teams are prepared to manage the busy days successfully by addressing the unique challenges and tight timelines.

Our advanced analytics can detect and predict potential disruptions before they occur.

Our use of multiple suppliers and modes of transportation helps mitigate the risk of a disruption derailing the entire supply chain.

Our simulation technology can help optimize resource allocation, inventory levels, and production schedules.

Our expertise and can scale operations with seasonal staff and extra shifts to meet peak demand. “There is nothing that scares us!”

By following these strategies, AMS can turn the “scary” logistical aspects of Halloween and Peak Seasons into a seamless and profitable process. Early planning, diversified networks, and clear customer communication are the keys to delivering more treats and fewer tricks this Halloween season.
