AMS Increases Profits and Gives Stimulus to Clients

Los Angeles, CA, December 08, 2009 (PressReleasePoint) — AMS Fulfillment Services has demonstrated that despite a down economy, an order fulfillment company can have a profitable year, and it can help its clients have a good year as well. While AMS experienced an overall reduction in sales in 2009, they were successful in mitigating the reduction by significant cost reductions and efficiency improvements, thus continuing a track record of bottom line growth.

“Our financial picture from a profit and loss standpoint has exceeded projections thus far in 2009, as we have been able to reduce labor as a percentage of sales, and improve our bottom line net profit despite the downturn in gross revenue,” said Ken Wiseman, CEO/Managing Partner of AMS Fulfillment. “A material portion of AMS’s stability is related to new business that has developed out of conscious efforts by new clients to better control their distribution costs by outsourcing to AMS, while allowing more focus on their core business development and marketing strengths.”

As is the case with any service industry, the success of AMS is directly tied to the success of its clients, and AMS is fortunate to have a client base that has managed to hold up to the challenges of the economic recession. “Clients are the reason we’re successful,” said Jay Catlin, President of AMS. “We go to work each day with this realization, and that’s why we push hard to look out for their best interests and truly function as a partner.” Wiseman adds, “We get to know our clients’ businesses and then do what needs to be done to help. Concerned that clients were experiencing a downturn in sales, Catlin and Wiseman decided to return well over $100,000 in savings to their clients in what they dubbed the AMS Stimulus Plan. “We’re giving back not only because we can,” said Catlin, “but because we are like an internal operation of the companies we serve – when they do well we do well.” The focus of the AMS Stimulus Plan was to lower, and in some cases eliminate, costs associated with negative work, or non revenue-generating work such as returns processing, product re-work projects (error corrections or refurbishing), true close-out orders (goods sold in bulk at near break-even prices), and charitable donations (which were processed at zero cost.)
