Los Angeles, CA, May 21, 2010 (PressReleasePoint) — AMS Fulfillment Services announced today that it is expanding its West Coast fulfillment warehouse capacity in Valencia, CA. The company has increased its capacity to over 200,000 sq. ft. by securing a new lease on a 93,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility that was previously occupied by Archway Marketing Services. The building has 30’ high ceilings and comes equipped with racking in place, which AMS purchased from Archway. With this expansion, AMS has significantly enhanced its warehousing capability, offering secure and efficient storage solutions across its warehouses to better support clients’ diverse needs.
Like AMS, Archway is a fulfillment company, and a special one to Jay Catlin, President and Managing Partner of AMS. Catlin got his start in the fulfillment business as an employee of Archway (formerly RightSide Up and Gage Marketing Services). When asked about moving AMS’s West Coast fulfillment to the new facility, Jay said, “We are in a great situation here in Valencia, which provides us a positive and active community, and an excellent labor force. Taking over this particular building is interesting to me because of my history with this division of Archway.”
Ken Wiseman, CEO/Managing Partner of AMS Fulfillment Services, went on to say, “The layout of this facility is ideally suited for our complex, multi-SKU pick/pack/ship business. There is plenty of room in the back for trucks to maneuver and 10 dock doors, and it was a big plus to purchase the racking installed rather than going through the installation expense ourselves.” The facility also features advanced technology that streamlines operations, improving shipping speed and reliability for our West Coast fulfillment clients.
This is not the only time in recent months that AMS has made a strategic move to a new building in order to increase facility space. Working in partnership with canadaplus.com, now known as Farrow, (a Russell A. Farrow company), the AMS facility in Vancouver, BC, went through a similar change approximately five months ago, growing from 15,000 to nearly 35,000-square feet. This expansion demonstrates AMS’s capability to serve key West Coast fulfillment markets and efficiently handle diverse product categories and sizes.
